Cookie Policy
What we store in your browser, why, and how you stay in control.
Your choices
You have not made a choice yet, so only strictly necessary cookies are used.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work at all (for example, to keep you signed in); others are optional. We only use optional cookies when you say yes, and you can change your mind at any time — here or with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
Strictly necessary
Keep the site working and secure: signing in, your basket, forms and the live chat you start. Always on.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
rai_sid | This website | Keeps your visit together: signing in, your basket, and the security codes that protect forms. | Until you close the browser |
rai_remember | This website | Keeps you signed in when you tick "Keep me signed in". Holds a random code, never your password; it changes every time it is used. | 30 days |
rai_consent | This website | Remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask on every page. | 6 months |
rai_chat | This website | Links this browser to the live chat you started, so you can carry on where you left off. Set only when you start a chat. | 30 days |
rai_chat_on | This website | Tells the page a chat is under way, so the chat window loads. Holds no personal data. | 30 days |
rai_vid | This website | Makes sure each person votes once on "Was this review helpful?". Set only when you vote. | 1 year |
Functional
Extra features from other companies, such as the Google map on the contact page.

On a secure (https) connection our cookie names start with __Host- or __Secure-:
a browser rule that stops other sites from planting or overwriting them.
How we protect our cookies
- Our cookies never contain your name, email, password or payment details — only random codes.
- Cookies that scripts do not need are marked HttpOnly, so page scripts cannot read them.
- They are only sent over secure connections, only to this site, and not with requests from other websites (SameSite).
- “Keep me signed in” uses a separate code that changes every time it is used; if an old copy is ever used again, we sign that account out everywhere. It lasts 30 days at most and ends when you sign out or change your password.
- Fonts and icons are served from our own server, so visiting our pages does not tell other companies about you.
- The Google map, analytics and advertising tools load only after you agree to them.
Proof of your choice
When you choose, we record the choice, the date, the version of this policy and a consent ID, so we can show we respected it. We do not keep your IP address with it — only a scrambled code that cannot be turned back into it. These records are deleted after about 13 months. We ask again after 6 months, or when this policy changes.
Deleting cookies
You can delete cookies at any time in your browser settings (usually under Privacy or Security). If you delete ours, you will be signed out and we will ask for your cookie choices again.
